Abstract
Horizontal deceleration is a common movement in team sports involving rapid velocity changes, and is characterized by high impact forces and loading rates. Dynamic balance is crucial for maintaining a stable posture during horizontal deceleration performance; however, whether lower-limb balance asymmetries would affect horizontal deceleration performance in young athletes is unclear.
This study aimed to explore whether the lower-limb asymmetry measured from the Y-balance test affects horizontal deceleration performance at different distances in youth elite basketball players.
