Description
Professional learning communities (PLCs) continue to be a widely accepted and used process for improving teacher capacity and increasing student achievement. Scholars have noted that the success or failure of the PLC process is based on the implementation of the PLC process; as well as, the views of principals and teachers in the PLC process. The purpose of this study is to identify the extent to which one school district in the Rocky Mountain Region has implemented the PLC process. This study attempts to investigate the different levels the PLC process that have been implemented based on the perceptions of teachers and principals. In addition, this study seeks to identify target areas and identify suggestions for district leaders, principals, and stakeholders for improving the PLC process within the school district.
