Abstract
Description
The conservation of big game migration corridors is critical to the longevity of the species that utilize those corridors. In Wyoming, wildlife species, and big game species specifically, are essential to the state’s economy and sense of identity. To protect corridors, states and local governments rely heavily on funding from their own budgets. A comprehensive strategy will require more support from federal funding sources, to reduce the burden on state and local coffers. This project examines the dynamic of cooperative federalism with regard to corridor funding and provides a toolkit that state and local agencies can use to help access federal funding for migration corridor conservation.
