It stands across Gardner River as you go from Gardner to Mammoth Hot Springs. Yellowstone Park was established by the Government in 1872. It is mostly in Northwestern Wyoming, a narrow trip being in Montana and Idaho. The Park is an elevated plateau surrounded by mountains and has an average elevation above sea level of about 7,500 feet.
