The axis of the Rock Springs Uplift trends north–south through the western edge of the quadrangle, exposing Upper Cretaceous strata that dip shallowly away from the axis. These strata are largely covered by subhorizontal Oligocene rocks in the southern half of the map area. Silicification and alteration are common within the quadrangle, occurring in all mappable units.
