What Are The Implications of an Increasing Elderly Population?

Wadas, Ali
Abstract
Description
The percentage of the population considered elderly is on the rise, and it is expected to keep growing as the baby boomer generation all age into the elderly category. The health care and societal implications of this changing demographic pose questions on the most efficient way to evolve into an elderly friendly society, as well as provide quality care for these individuals. The subjects that are considered include health risks, age discrimination, suicide rates, and end of life care.
