Geology of Glendo State Park

Abstract
Description
Glendo State Park is the home of Glendo Reservoir, located along the North Platte River. The geology exposed around the park—representing more than 300 million years of Earth history—is largely visible because the North Platte River cut a canyon through this region, leaving the landscape seen today. These rock exposures allow a better understanding of the geologic history of the region, telling a story of inland flooding, dinosaurs, mountain building, and volcanism. WSGS PubID: OFR-2020-1
