Help a Creator Out!? Leaving a Guide for Revising and Remixing

Abstract
Do you ever wonder why an author chose to adapt an OER? Or what exactly inspired the OER content they created? Have you faced challenges customizing OER? This interactive session will discuss challenges the presenters have encountered working with K-20 instructors on revising and remixing OER. Amber Hoye and Shannon Smith will lead attendees through intentional solutions they have employed to help instructors leave a guide of their pedagogical choices for future creators. These choices can range from the selection of media to how they customized the material for a specific course. Additionally, the presenters will share their perspectives on how these approaches can help the open education community revise and remix OER from either author or supporting roles such as librarian or instructional designer.
