Abstract
In 2022, the Wyoming State Geological Survey (WSGS) updated the Precambrian basement map of Wyoming originally published by D.L. Blackstone, Jr. (1993a), incorporating advances in digital mapping and refining the structural interpretation of Precambrian rocks statewide. To further improve the utility and accessibility of this work, the WSGS used geospatial tools to generate surfaces representing the interpreted top of the Precambrian basement, referenced to both mean sea level and ground elevation. This data release includes two digital surfaces representing the interpreted top of the Precambrian basement, referenced to both mean sea level and ground elevation. The map and report from which this data release originated can be found in Wyoming State Geological Survey, 2022, Precambrian basement map of Wyoming—Structural configuration: Wyoming State Geological Survey Open File Report 2022-5, 8 p., 1 pl., scale 1 : 500,000 at https://www.wsgs.wyo.gov/pubs-maps/publication-search.aspx?PubID=OFR-2022-5.
