Abstract
Description
Physician assisted death laws have yet to be passed in all 50 states of the U.S., and individuals often hold varying perspectives towards this form of medical practice. This project will examine attitudes towards physician assisted death, and it will analyze the impact of different demographic variables on these attitudes. Demographic variables will be showcased through the use of patient vignettes, where the patients will have varying genders and ages. Demographic data will also be collected about the respondents in order to better understand the overall results. The results of this study could point to the impact demographic variables have on the acceptability of physician assisted suicide. More broadly, the attitudes of the research participants regarding physician assisted death could imply a possible increase in the adoption of these practices throughout the country.
