EERB Fluid Loop Design and Implementation
thesis
posted on 2021-11-15, 18:47 authored by Taten KnightA new water flow loop teaching laboratory will be built in the Engineering Education and Research Building (EERB) during the spring 2019 term. The loop will demonstrate flow properties and states in straight pipe, and through elbows and tees. It will allow undergraduate engineers exposure to the use of various instruments and valve types as well. It will also have the capacity to add or remove experimental sections. The centrifugal pump will demonstrate net-positive suction head, pump efficiency, brake horsepower, and the effects of cavitation in the pump. The overall goal is to ensure that the University’s engineering students have adequate understanding of pipe networks and all of their components prior to entering the industry.
