Wyoming Community Members' Storage Habits and Safety Beliefs Regarding Prescription Pain Medications
presentation
posted on 2021-11-15, 18:15 authored by Misty O'LexeyThis study's aim was to identify storage habits and safety beliefs amongst Wyoming community members regarding prescription pain medications, medication at risk for diversion due to addiction.4 Adults in Sweetwater County were investigated due to anecdotal reports of high prescription pain medication being dispensed in this community. While this study was not an intervention, the behaviors and beliefs of a specific Wyoming community were sought with the intent of later using the information for community-based and/or health professional education. Proposed a priori hypotheses were that safe storage of prescription pain medications would be related to gender (H1), age (H2), and whether or not individuals believe they could have these medications stolen.
