Design of Dale Creek Dams
presentation
posted on 2021-11-15, 18:20 authored by Harrison Carter, Dillon Cotterman, Prapti GiriDesign of Small Earth Dams, CE 5820, is a Civil Engineering "Comprehensive Design Experience" course. Dams, even small earth dams such as those for stock ponds, require combining knowledge from Hydrology, Hydraulics, Geotechnical Engineering and Construction. The project this semester is to design a water storage dam facility to collect excess water from both natural rainfall runoff and from a water discharge point located on the Lake Owen to Granite Dam pipeline. Engineering, legal and safety aspects must be incorporated into the design. Judges will be from the State Engineer's Office, the Wyoming Water Development Commission and an engineering consultant.
