Though dance has historically been performed exclusively live on stages, we have entered an era where dance and other art forms are performed for film. This new method of delivering performances allows more freedom for the artists and viewers. The following dance project and performance include an in-depth exploration of dance film in Southwest Wyoming by the choreographer and dancer. The performance also analyzes the process of creating a dance film outdoors and concludes with a finely edited piece of choreography in a variety of landscapes, showing how the use of different mediums and skills is necessary to create dance for film.
