Preliminary geologic map of the Separation Rim quadrangle, Carbon County, Wyoming

A large prominent synclinal structure is mapped in the area south of Bairoil, Wyoming. Rock formations ranging in age from upper Cretaceous through Eocene display weak to moderate Laramide deformation, which are in turn partially concealed under Quaternary sand and alluvium.
