This rock has been the resting place for eagles for ages. It stands across Gardner River as you go from Gardner to Mammoth Hot Springs. Yellowstone Park was established by the Government in 1872. It is mostly in Northwestern Wyoming, a narrow trip being in Montana and Idaho. The Park is an elevated plateau surrounded by mountains and has an average elevation above sea level of about 7,500 feet. Passing along this roadway you next come to Liberty Cap and the Mammoth Hot Springs.
